Every pack leaving KLK OLEO’s packaging line carries printed dates, batch numbers and running numbers that must be correct, legible and in sequence. PixeVision deployed See.AI™ for automated packaging inspection on a local industrial PC with an industrial camera, reading and verifying every printed field inline — and, through PLC integration, sound an on-site alarm and stop the conveyor the moment a pack fails.

KLK Palm-Oleo Sdn Bhd
Every pack on the line is printed with a manufacturing date, expiry date, batch number and running number. Customers, auditors and the plant’s own traceability records all depend on these codes being correct on every single unit.
At production speed, the risks are easy to miss by eye: a printer left on the previous day’s date or batch, a skipped or duplicated running number, and aesthetic print defects such as smudged, faded, broken or misaligned characters. Visual checks depend on operator attention across long shifts, and an error caught late means many affected packs to trace and rework.
The line was already printing the codes. What was needed was an AI layer that could read every one, confirm it was right, and stop the line the moment it wasn’t.

PixeVision installed an industrial camera at the inspection point and deployed See.AI™ on a local industrial PC beside the line. The AI reads every printed field, validates its content and sequence, and runs packaging inspection for print quality. Results are passed to the line’s PLC, which raises an on-site alarm and stops the conveyor whenever a pack fails — keeping a human in the loop for every reject.
An industrial camera mounted on the conveyor images the printed area of every pack as it passes the inspection point.
See.AI™ reads the printed text and labels — dates, batch numbers and running numbers — on the local IPC, handling real-world ink and surface variation.
Each field is checked for correct value, format and running-number sequence, while print is inspected for smudges, missing characters, fading and misalignment.
On any reject, See.AI™ signals the PLC to sound the on-site alarm and stop the conveyor. An operator inspects the pack, corrects the issue and restarts the line.
See.AI™ turned code checking from a manual, attention-dependent task into an automatic gate on every pack — with the line stopping itself before an error can travel downstream.
Dates, batch numbers and running numbers are read and validated on each pack — not sampled, not checked at the end of a shift.
PLC-triggered alarm and conveyor stop mean coding and print defects are caught the moment they occur, before affected packs build up downstream.
The AI flags and stops; operators decide and restart. Everything runs on a local IPC, with no cloud dependency and no production data leaving the plant.
Visual code checks dependent on operator attention — sequence errors and print defects easily missed at line speed.
AI OCR verifies every pack inline — PLC alarm and conveyor stop on any reject, before errors travel downstream.
